Breast Cancer Research Foundation
Hil is a young breast cancer survivor of six years, and she is not alone—1 in 8 women in the United States will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. We are big believers in funding scientific research, and particularly studies focused on metastatic breast cancer—for which there is still no cure. ‘24-’25 funding priorities for BCRF include metastatic research, mitigating disparities, and quality of life after a cancer diagnosis (shoutout to the OncoveryCare crew …) BCRF funds a slew of excellent researchers, including Hil’s wonderful oncologist, Dr. Eric Winer, who has been a BCRF Investigator since 2003.
Center for Biological Diversity
We both grew up with strong ties to the coastal ecosystems of New England, from exploring tide pools in Maine to kayaking in Little Pleasant Bay on the Cape. These areas played a large role in our childhoods and up to today. More recently, many of the high-points of our relationship have taken place with family and friends exploring the beauty around New England and farther afield during our travels. The Center for Biological Diversity does amazing work protecting the places and the creatures we love through a variety of initiatives including endangered species conservation, public land protection, and advocacy through the Climate Law Institute.
The Trustees
We have special memories in the local Massachusetts areas that the Trustees protects. Monument Mountain was where Will popped the question, and the gorgeous views of the Berkshires were a great background for such a special memory for us. Over the years we have found many great Trustees properties to enjoy with family and friends. From walks at Menemsha Hills and Worlds End, to taking in some culture at the deCordova Sculpture Park and The Old Manse, we have loved the experiences the trustees have preserved for us.
